Vasanthi, Petty Shop, Candles & Incense
My widowed mother felt obliged to arrange for me, one of her six daughters, my marriage at age 13. After bearing four children, I then became a widow when my husband was electrocuted in our house. Because he was a government driver, we received a pension. For my daughter’s $10,000 wedding, I went into grave debt and had to, not only give the pension to the collector, but also pay an additional Rs 10,000 in interest.
At this point, I received my first Prosperity Rings loan. The petty shop I established is considered to be one of the best stocked shops of all the borrowers, complete with a refrigerator for cold drinks and milk. One month after I took SRIA’s training in candles and incense, I was making them AND packaging them with a brand name for sale. Now I also sell packaging for others. SRIA’s and Prosperity Rings’ praise has enormously helped to build my confidence and spirits.
