Shoba, Weaving & Selling Sarees
I associated with SHWET’s SHG three years back. My oldest child is studying 1st standard and our second child is two years old. Due to family poverty my husband works in Kerala and rarely comes home to see us.
In my family we had a weaving machine. Earlier I borrowed raw materials from the shop owners and wove sarees, which I then supplied to the shop. I realized this was not profitable, so I took micro credit support from Prosperity Rings. Now I purchase the raw materials from the shop, weave sarees, and sell them on my own. With more profit I can take care of the children well. I earn Rs 9000 per month, with Rs 4500 profit, and I reinvest regularly to earn more. SHWET says I am an exemplary woman, determined to live an exemplary life.
